Posted, April 2, 2008: The April Pack Meeting will be at 6:30 PM on April 15 in the gym at St. Joe's School.
Posted, April 4, 2008: Notes from the April 3 Leader Teleconference Meeting attended by Steve Adams, Bill Deurkop, Randy Wiederholt, Steph Fleming, Bill Wagner and Bob Rogalla. We discussed the following 6 items:
1. Mr. Adams reminded everyone that camp registrations and payments are due next week.
2. We discussed that the Pack is about $640 short of our FOS goal. With only about 7 families contributing so far, we should be able to make our goal if the remaining 32 families contribute an average amount of $20 each. A plea was made for the leaders to remind the families in their den to please consider sending in a contribution ASAP or we will not qualify for the Gold Card discount and all camp fees will need to be adjusted upward to recognize the fact that we will not receive a 10% discount on those fees.
3. Scouting for Food was discussed. After a brief discussion, it was decided that instead of distributing the door hangers the weekend before the collection day we would rather distribute hangers the latter part of the week prior to collection day. That way people would be less likely to forget to put the food out early on the morning of Saturday, April 12. Boy Scouts from Troop 28 will collect food on the 12th and take it to the Food Pantry.
4. The District Leader Recognition Dinner will be on May 8. Pre-registration by or before April 18 is required for attending.
5. Our May Pack Meeting is scheduled for Friday, May 9 up at Cub World in Camp Phillips. We will assemble starting at 5:15 as people can get up there, after which we will have gourmet dinner (of Hot Dogs) and all kinds of other stuff (veggies, chips, deserts). After we eat we will have our Pack Meeting during which all of our scouts will graduate to the next level of Cub Scouts. Each will receive their new neckerchief and handbook for the next trail (year). Weather permitting we will then enjoy the fellowship of a campfire where we can roast marshmallows and eat smores. This is always a super meeting for the entire family!
6. Finally, Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO) training is scheduled for May 10. This training will be in Chippewa Falls. Any Cub Scout leader or parent is welcome to participate in this training, which is required for any Cub Scout overnight trips other than to Resident Camp. Call or e-mail Bob for more details if you are interested at 790-2899.
